If you've stopped by our booth at a Farmers Market in the DFW area, there's a good chance you've talked to one of us directly — that's on purpose. Every blend on the table was made by hand, by our family, here in Dallas. Nothing outsourced, nothing private-labeled. Now we'd like to properly introduce us.
Where It All Started
My path here didn't start in a classroom — it started in my Dominican grandmother's kitchen, watching her mix remedies from scratch. I grew up between New York City and Miami, and later lived in Los Angeles, London, and Singapore, traveling extensively along the way. Everywhere I went, I paid attention to how different cultures use tea and herbs — not just for enjoyment, but also for wellness (like my family did growing up). Combine that with my professional culinary training, and that's really the whole foundation of The RX Tea Shop: every blend is crafted to taste great, have benefits you can actually feel, and also give you a simple ritual for self-care.
How It All Works
James is my husband, and he's the reason any of this actually reaches you. He's a lifelong Dallasite with a background in luxury hospitality, and he runs the entire operations and guest-experience side of the business — sourcing, logistics, the table you see us behind at the market, all of it. I create the blends; James makes sure every part of how you experience them is done with the same care.
Still a Family Business, Really
We're parents of three kids and two very spirited pups. Tea is a daily ritual in our house, we drink it for:
- immediate relief of discomforts
- boosting our wellness goals
- quiet moments of unwinding
- morning caffeine boosts
- afternoon resets
- fancy tea parties with friends
- warming up on cold winter days
- cooling down on hot summer days
- and so much more
For our family tea is a lifestyle, it's not just our storefront. That's part of why we started this in the first place — after years of exploring what was out there, we didn't feel like anyone was making tea that was both genuinely functional and also tastes good or worth savoring. So we made it ourselves.
What I'm Sipping on Right Now: Restful Sleep
With the start of school quickly approaching, it felt like the right time to talk about Restful Sleep — lavender, valerian root, and sage. We drink it every night, and give our kids a half serving or smaller mixed with milk and honey on school nights to ensure bed time goes smoothly and everyone wakes up refreshed.

Questions I Get Asked A Lot at the Market
Did you go to school for this?
Not for herbalism — that part is self-taught, built on a lifetime of exposure to different cultures' approaches to tea and herbs, plus a lot of hands-on experimenting. I do have formal culinary training, which is where the flavor side comes from. I was a working chef at a 5-star hotel for many years.
Do you really make everything yourselves?
Yes — the blending, the artwork, the packaging, all of it happens by hand, by us, in Dallas. Nothing is mass-produced or outsourced.
Can I actually meet you at the market?
Yes! With very few exceptions, it's always me, James, or our oldest daughter, Chloe, at one of our booths at the farmers markets.
